You ask for tips/advice on connecting with and nurturing your inner child. I offer you the following:
The child you were is still there with you in your being, right here, right now. Whatever qualities of mind and heart, eye and hand and movement that you associate with being a child and are seeking now as an adult are available to you in every moment. It is a matter of how you direct your attention, what you allow into your field of awareness, and how much permission you are willing to grant yourself.
Take some quiet time alone to properly meet this part of yourself. Create comfortable conditions where you, the adult, can relax, breathe, be still, quieten the mind. Invite the child within to come forth - to be welcomed, felt and heard. Listen to what the child needs to thrive and what brings joy. Grant what you can of the child’s wishes; meet what needs you are able to at this moment in time.
In my experience the child’s needs and wants are surprisingly simple and can be readily met.
Form and hold an intention to make time/space for adult you and child you to hang out together. Allow whatever wonders are there to emerge and enrich these two aspects of your being as you are here and now.
